Clare Rowland - Sessional Youth Worker

Hello, my name is Clare Rowland and I am a sessional youth worker at Pause. You will find me in our new drop-in service in Digbeth, mostly at weekends and in the school holidays. I will be here to welcome you into Pause and introduce you to everything that we have on offer. I will be working with young people, as well as with families and carers, to provide support and information about mental health and mental health services in Birmingham.

I first became involved with Pause in September 2015 as a volunteer in a young people’s participation group. I have been involved in developing the service and am so excited to now be part of the team who work with young people and other visitors to Pause.

I believe that the upcoming generation are going to be a most incredible one, but that they also face a lot of challenges and pressures in society today. Recently out of education myself, I understand first-hand the issues facing young people. I would like you to know that whatever is troubling you, and however large or small your issues may feel, Pause is designed especially to help you. It can be really hard to talk about our feelings, but I promise the lovely team here at Pause will work with you to get the support you need.
