Our inpatient units
If you need to have an inpatient stay it will be at one of our three dedicated units at our Parkview Clinic inpatient hospital in Moseley.
Irwin is a 12 bed specialist eating disorders unit for young people aged 12-18 with a range of eating disorders.
It provides an intensive and purposeful programme where young people not only restore a healthy weight through balanced diet and rest, but also work on psychological issues through group work, individual work and family therapy.
Parents/carers play a major role in supporting recovery. The therapeutic programme has been designed by adapting a family based treatment called the Maudsley Approach.

Heathlands is a 14 bed general adolescent unit which provides assessment and treatment of 12-18 year olds with a range of mental health and emotional difficulties.
Heathlands does not admit anyone with an eating disorder, moderate to severe learning disability or drug and/or alcohol dependency.
The Ashfield Unit is an eight bed secure unit that provides assessment and treatment for 12-18 year olds with acute mental health problems. Most young people who are admitted to Ashfield are a greater risk to themselves or others due, which is why the unit is secure.
Many admissions are shorter that on other units as some young people are only admitted for assessment.
Similar to Heathlands, Ashfield does not admit anyone with an eating disorder, moderate to severe learning disability or drug and/or alcohol dependency.
For more information read our Ashfield Handbook.
Inpatient services for 18 to 25 year olds are provided at the Woodbourne Priory Hospital in Edgbaston, Birmingham, run by The Priory Group. This newly developed, therapeutic facility offers the very best environment for treatment and care.
