• Project update #3: 25 Sept 2015

    It has been another busy few weeks as we prepare for 1 October, when our services start going live. We are phasing the introduction of new services as we know this is the safest approach. We're currently interviewing following our first recruitment exercise and have appointed an interim medical director, Doctor Jo Bailey, who starts on 14 October.

  • Project update #2: 7 Sept 2015

    I am pleased to say that we are making good progress against the timelines outlined in my last update. From 1 October the phone number for the new Access Centre will go live for advice and guidance, and we will no longer be transferring young people at 16+ years from Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS).

    Three hundred children, young people, young adults and health partners, came out in force yesterday for a preview of Birmingham's new revolutionary new mental health service for 0-25 year olds – Forward Thinking Birmingham.

  • Forward Thinking Birmingham announced as preferred bidder for £124m mental health contract: 18 Feb 2015

    Birmingham South Central Clinical Commissioning Group has announced Forward Thinking Birmingham, a new mental health partnership led by Birmingham Children’s Hospital, as the preferred bidder for a £124m five year contract to deliver mental health services for children, young people and young adults.
